Todd E. Heller Esq., CPC
Todd E. Heller serves as President of Heller Pension Associates, where he focuses on retirement plan design, client consulting, and overseeing the firm’s technical and service operations. He works closely with business owners, financial advisors, and CPAs to develop customized retirement plan strategies that align with each client’s financial and tax planning objectives. Todd is also actively involved in staff training, client meetings, and industry speaking engagements.
Prior to joining Heller Pension Associates, Todd practiced ERISA law with a large New York law firm, where he advised clients on qualified retirement plans, compliance, and regulatory matters. His legal background provides the firm with deep technical expertise in plan design and administration.
Todd is a Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) through the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) and is admitted to practice law in both Florida and New York. He earned his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Albany.
He is active in the professional community and previously served as President of the Fort Lauderdale Tax Council. Todd also volunteers with the local food bank.
Outside the office, Todd enjoys pickleball, tennis, running, and weight training. He and his wife, Rita, an endodontist, have two children — Dylan, who is entering medical school, and Jackson, who attends the University of Florida.
Jennifer Van Wagner QPA, CPC, ERPA
Jennifer Van Wagner is Vice President of Heller Pension Associates and oversees the firm’s daily operations while continuing to work closely with clients on retirement plan administration and consulting.
Jennifer is responsible for contribution calculations, plan valuations, regulatory compliance, and client consulting, and plays a key role in managing staff, training team members, and coordinating the firm’s technical work. Jennifer also assists with IRS and Department of Labor audits and correspondence, ensuring plans are administered accurately and in accordance with current regulations.
Jennifer has been with Heller Pension Associates for more than 35 years and is an integral part of the firm’s long-standing reputation for technical expertise, reliability, and personalized service. Her decades of experience allow her to guide clients, financial advisors, and CPAs through complex plan matters with confidence and precision.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Mount Saint Mary College and maintains several professional credentials through the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), including Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and Certified Pension Consultant (CPC). She is also an Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA) with the Internal Revenue Service, allowing her to represent clients before the IRS on retirement plan matters.
Outside of work, Jennifer is active in fundraising efforts for the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and the American Heart Association. She enjoys traveling and researching genealogy.
Jeff Thomas QPA, QKA, QKC
Jeff Thomas specializes in qualified retirement plan administration at Heller Pension Associates, with a primary focus on annual valuation preparation and ongoing plan compliance. He works closely with clients and advisors to ensure retirement plans are administered accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory requirements. His long tenure with the firm provides clients with the benefit of continuity, experience, and a deep understanding of plan administration.
Jeff joined Heller Pension Associates in 1993 and has spent his career working in the field of qualified retirement plans. His extensive experience allows him to handle complex administrative matters while maintaining the attention to detail required to keep plans compliant and running smoothly.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an Actuarial Science option from Penn State University. Jeff holds several professional designations through the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), including Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA), Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA), and Qualified 401(k) Consultant (QKC).
Outside of the office, Jeff enjoys golf and softball and closely follows Penn State athletics, New York Yankees baseball, and the New York Jets. He has also been active in his community, serving on the board of the Hyde Park Little League for more than 12 years.
Tom Marshall QPA
Tom Marshall focuses on the administration of 401(k) and profit sharing plans at Heller Pension Associates. He works with clients to ensure plans are maintained accurately and in compliance with current regulations, providing reliable support throughout the annual administration process. His experience allows him to guide businesses through the details of plan operations while helping minimize administrative burden.
Tom joined the firm after earning his degree from the University at Albany, where he majored in Accounting with a minor in Business and Economics. He holds the Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) designation through the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), reflecting his expertise in retirement plan administration and compliance.
Outside of work, Tom has been active in youth sports for many years, serving as a youth baseball manager for 17 years and as a board member for his local league for over a decade. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, and attending his sons’ sporting events.
Julie Banister
Julie Banister works in retirement plan administration at Heller Pension Associates, where she is responsible for administering defined benefit, cash balance, 401(k), profit sharing, and combination plans. She works closely with clients to ensure plans are maintained accurately, contributions are calculated properly, and all regulatory requirements are met. Her experience with multiple plan types allows her to support businesses with both straightforward and more complex retirement plan structures.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from SUNY Geneseo and a Master of Arts in School Psychology from Marist College. Her strong analytical background supports the detailed work required in retirement plan administration and compliance.
Outside of the office, Julie enjoys community involvement, including community gardening, volunteering with animal shelters, and participating in voter engagement efforts such as Get Out the Vote initiatives.
Charlie Owens
Charlie Owens works in retirement plan administration at Heller Pension Associates, where he administers 401(k), defined benefit, and cash balance plans for a wide range of clients. His responsibilities include handling complex plan structures, including dual plan designs, performing compliance testing, and advising clients on plan terminations, including plans covered by the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC). Charlie also consults directly with clients on plan design and annual contribution strategies to help ensure their retirement plans align with their financial goals while remaining compliant with regulatory requirements.
Charlie graduated from Binghamton University, State University of New York, with a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and a minor in Economics. He has passed several Society of Actuaries exams, including Probability (P), Financial Mathematics (FM), and Models for Financial Economics (MFE), reflecting his strong technical background in retirement plan calculations and funding analysis.
Charlie lives in Clark, New Jersey. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking and skiing and is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
Collin Hogan AKS
Collin Hogan provides full-service administration for 401(k) plans at Heller Pension Associates, handling all aspects of plan administration from eligibility determination through annual reporting. His responsibilities include contribution calculations, compliance testing, asset reconciliation, and preparation of Form 5500 filings. Collin also works directly with clients and their advisors to answer questions about plan provisions and ensure each plan is administered accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Collin earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Fine Arts from North Dakota State University. He is a NIPA Accredited 401(k) Specialist (AKS), reflecting his training and expertise in qualified retirement plan administration.
Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Collin enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Karissa, and their two dogs, Franklin and Sylvia. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, swimming, camping, and working on construction and home projects. He also has a creative side and enjoys drawing and sculpting, and he especially values time spent with friends and family, often gathered around a campfire.
Amy Simon
Amy Simon serves as Defined Contribution Plan Administrator at Heller Pension Associates, where she prepares year-end compliance packages and Form 5500 filings and develops plan projections as needed. She works closely with clients, accountants, and financial advisors to help ensure defined contribution plans are administered accurately and on schedule. Amy has six years of experience as a Plan Administrator, which includes training new hires on administration systems and procedures.
Amy earned her Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in Actuarial Science, from Temple University. She holds the Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation through the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA).
Outside of the office, Amy enjoys playing volleyball and spending time with friends from her church community. She and her husband, Greg, were married in May of last year.
Matthew Martin
Matthew (Matt) Martin manages comprehensive administration for Defined Contribution, Traditional Defined Benefit, and Cash Balance plans at Heller Pension Associates. He is focused on maintaining responsive communication with clients and participants and works to keep plan filings on track with required deadlines.
Matt has two years of experience as a retirement plan administrator. Before moving into retirement plan administration, he began his career as an application support analyst, providing technical support and analytical reports for his organization.
Matthew earned his Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from the University of Cincinnati.
Outside of the office, Matthew is a dedicated Columbus Blue Jackets fan and regularly attends home games. He enjoys staying active through ice and roller hockey, running, and golf, and likes to relax by playing electric guitar and chess. Matthew has a brother who is training to become an airline pilot and a sister who attends the University of Kentucky.
Natalie Gilbert QPA
Natalie Gilbert works in retirement plan administration at Heller Pension Associates, where she prepares plan installation, restatement, and amendment documents and reviews Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) calculations. Her work helps ensure that client retirement plans remain properly documented and compliant with current regulatory requirements. Natalie’s attention to detail and technical knowledge support the firm’s commitment to accuracy and long-term plan compliance.
Natalie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, with a minor in Business Economics, from the State University of New York at Potsdam. She holds the Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), reflecting her expertise in retirement plan administration and documentation.
Outside of work, Natalie has been active in her community, previously serving as a board member and currently serving on the finance committee of Grace Smith House, Inc. She also enjoys exhibiting Guernsey dairy cattle with her family at the Dutchess County Fair and spending time reading.
Amy Treaster
Amy Treaster supports the administration team at Heller Pension Associates by assisting with client corporate tax compliance, participant benefit administration, and day-to-day office operations. Her responsibilities include managing invoices through QuickBooks, handling benefit claims processing, maintaining plan records, and providing administrative support to ensure client plans are serviced accurately and efficiently. Her attention to detail and organizational skills help keep the firm’s administrative processes running smoothly.
Amy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Bloomsburg University. Her experience in office administration and client support plays an important role in maintaining the high level of service Heller Pension Associates provides to its clients and professional partners.
Outside of the office, Amy is a certified Master Gardener and volunteers as a gardening consultant in her community. She also enjoys foraging and spending time outdoors.
